With colder weather quickly approaching, we're all trying to stay warm - including the critters that live outdoors. Over the last few months, we've done a few basement insulation projects and have found that our air sealing and basement insulation services actually helps eliminates unwanted critters from entering the home.
If you're like me, I have no problem with mice....when they are not in my living space! I think this meme pretty much summarizes how I feel about the situation.
My sister-in-law shares the same opinion. She bought a house in Colgate, WI this spring and the previous homeowner had quite the mouse invasion. She asked Jason if he had any suggestions, and he knew immediately that insulation and air sealing was the solution for her. After thoroughly cleaning the area, and de-mousing the basement (pulling what seemed to be hundreds of deceased mice from her drop ceiling, but we won't tell her that!), he went to town insulating the basement cavities and air sealing up any areas that any unwanted outside critters could potentially find their way into her home. The result? A successful install that has left her basement mice free and with fewer cobwebs in the basement.
We also worked with another customer who had a similar situation. She told us that she literally spent thousands of dollars on "mice elimination" products. A wise man (aka my grandpa) once told me that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different result. Unfortunately, these products are designed to eliminate once they enter your home and do not get to the source of the problem. That's where insulation and air sealing is the solution.
So, if you have ever had mice in your basement, stop buying traps and have us solve your unwanted critter problem, keep your basement cleaner and best of all reduce your energy costs this winter. Contact us today to learn more!
